Mumbai: Central Railway has cancelled all trains between Thane and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) due to heavy rains and waterlogging on the tracks. The disruption, which started on Tuesday after continuous downpours since August 18, has also affected services on both the Harbour Line and Central Line.
To ensure passenger safety, several trains have been cancelled or suspended. According to Central Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer Swapnil Nila, services from CSMT to Thane on the Main Line and from CSMT to Mankhurd on the Harbour Line were stopped as water levels in the Mithi River kept rising.
At the station, police announced that all local train services between Thane and CSMT were cancelled due to heavy rains. Passengers were informed that the Mumbai rains train cancellation would continue until further notice. However, trains towards Kalyan were still running and remained operational as of Tuesday.
